Comments: Is a mass-mailing worm with backdoor capabilities. It can spread throughNetwork shares and will also attempt to terminate the processes ofvarious antivirus and firewall programs.

Symptoms:


Recommended Cleanup Software: We found that Easy SpyRemover is the most effective tool for removing this file.

Manual Removal Instructions: If you are on a network, or have a full time connection to the Internet such as DSL or Cable modem, you must disconnect the computer from the network and the Internet. Disable or password protect file sharing--or set shared files to Read-Only--before reconnecting computers to the network or to the internet. Because this worm spreads by using shared folders on networked computers, to ensure that the worm does not reinfect the computer after it has been removed, Symantec suggests sharing with read-only access or using password protection. For instructions on how to do this,see your Windows documentation or the document How to configure shared Windows folders for maximum network protection.
If you are cleaning out an infection on a network, make sure any shares are disabled or set to Read-Only before doing so.
Run the fix tool and update the virus defs or perform the following steps to do it manually:
Update the virus definitions.
Restart the computer in Safe mode.
Run a full system scan, and delete all files that are detected as W32.Bugbear@mm.
Delete the value added by the worm from the registry keyHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce
